Dr. Timothy Mickiewicz, a 1982 graduate of the University of Pacific Dental School, has been a pioneer in the integration of dentistry and medicine with particular emphasis on Temporomandibular Disorders, Facial Pain, Sleep Medicine and complex restorative dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management. Long associated with major medical groups in the greater Northern California area, he has forged unique contractual bonds with these groups that are unprecedented in their scope, essentially assuming responsibility for hundreds of thousands of patients. Operating as a virtual “clinic without walls”, he has access to myriad medical specialists. Dr. Mickiewicz was instrumental in the acceptance by the medical insurance industry for coverage for dental sleep appliances, orthotics, cone beam CT, trigger point injections, and follow-up visits. This steadfast dedication and commitment to the profession is borne of a passion for compassion and empathy for a hugely under-diagnosed population. He loves to share this passion through teaching, grand rounds, mentoring dentists and physicians and is often called upon for expert testimony.
